We are joined by a prolific drummer in Austin Archey from the New Jersey deathcore quartet, Lorna Shore. Here we are in a new chapter for the band a decade after their birth – but not without the adversity which was faced in that timeframe. Austin sits with us to talk about the band’s eventful journey filled with the high and lows that have molded them into who they are today; They’re ready for whatever may come. The band’s recent lineup change came unplanned yet the new territory was a blessing in disguise, especially with knowing how well the previous release, “Immortal,” was perceived by their fans. Their new vocalist Will Ramos is the perfect fit and Austin could not be more satisfied to see the page turn with a new member and a new album to cement their latest and monstrous sound. There’s heavy, and then there’s Lorna Shore’s newest EP, “…And I Return To Nothingness,” which features a new vocal range of talent from Will Ramos. Austin dives into the production processes, chemistry, and songwriting that took place with Will and the rest of Lorna Shore, and how this record has boasted the band’s sound into something that will shatter the listeners nerves into full satisfaction. From the unique themes and different layers of death metal and symphonic elements, this new EP is definitely raising the bar for not only the band themselves, but for other artists out there attempting to get creative with their established sound in the deathcore world. Few are doing it right, and Lorna Shore is right there. Plenty to be excited for here as we eye the rise into the potential peak for a deathcore fan favorite in Lorna Shore. Tune into our episode with Austin now and be sure to buy and stream the new album “…And I Return To Nothingness,” due out August 13 via Century Media Records
