IUF Exclusive – Vicky Psarakis of The Agonist

We caught up with the enthralling frontwoman Vicky Psarakis of Canadian extreme metal outfit, The Agonist. Towards on the later half of their most recent touring cycle, it’s been a nonstop pace alongside tourmates Hypocrisy, Carach Angren, and Hideous Divinity. Vicky takes break in the middle of the action and grabs a Shiner (a TX local favorite) with our very own host in Sonny Reza to have a good old fashioned chat about the touring life reopening and the music she loves so much, and then some. Throughout this in-depth conversation, Vicky also chats with Sonny about the bands history along with her own personal aspirations from where she began to where she is today, which include starting her own management company. Additionally, The Agonist was recently nominated for a Juno, one of Canada’s most prestigious music awards, and Sonny gets Vicky’s humble thoughts on that honor. The last two years have taught us plenty, and the level of appreciation on everything we have is paramount; Vicky reflects on that, while setting up her own goals for herself and her bandmates down the road. Tune in now and be sure to pick up The Agonist’s latest Juno-nominated EP, “Days Before The World Wept,” out now worldwide via Napalm Records.
