We welcome back the inspiring French musician, Laura Cox, back onto IUF in this episode. It’s been 2 ½ years since she last made her appearance on our show, and catching up on everything since then has been a learning and growing experience for her. From the pandemic, to releasing her acclaimed album “Burning Bright,” and touring throughout Europe – Laura has been grateful to continue making the music she loves. And as we begin 2023, Laura is taking the forefront yet again in the world of contemporary southern blues, where this genre has seemingly been dominated with her musicianship in recent memory. Her new album, “Head Above Water,” is a refreshing take on the southern rock scene and we get the chance to pick Laura’s mind on the writing and production process that took place. Even with lineup changes for her band, this new chapter has opened up a bigger opportunity for Laura to take the lead. There are long roads to get to certain goals, and then there is Laura’s path. She’s come a long way since her YouTube days when she first showcased her guitar skills to the world. Now it’s only another step further into her storied career as she continues to make strides with “Head Above Water,” as it is sure to bring in new fans as well satisfying the older ones who are familiar with the southern rock scene.
