Max Cavalera Returns to IUF

In another exciting episode of returning guests, today comes the underground icon, extreme metal trailblazer, third-world warrior, and leader of a diverse and dedicated tribe, Max Cavalera. We last chatted with Max on the first day of the Coronavirus pandemic. Needless to say, a lot has happened since then, and Max talks about what he has been up to. Soulfly has been in the game for 25 years, and have just dropped their 12th album, “Totem,” in the summer of 2022 while receiving praise from the metal community. Max talks about taking Soulfly back on the road for their longest U.S. tour in his decorated career – spanning 57 days from January 25 to April 1. One thing that Max takes to heart is his love for underground music, and taking bands like Bodybox, Skinflint, Half Heard Voices, and Drift along on this tour is an important significance of that. Max and Soulfly are well-established, and he realizes that. Taking lesser-known, yet talented bands, on the road with him is an example of that support he has always shown since his first days in Sepultura. And now with the Soulfly lineup seemingly complete with their newest member, Mike DeLeon, it was time to finally showcase this rebirth of the band to the fans. Join us now for an in-depth conversation with one of heavy metal’s most influential icons, Max Cavalera. And be sure to buy and stream their latest record, “Totem,” which is out now worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records.
