We end our 10th season of IUF with one of the more talented and creative rock bands to ever come to the surface, New York’s very own Black Satellite. Vocalist Larissa Vale and guitarist Kyle Hawken have formed quite the chemistry in the last 4 years which spawned “Endless”, their debut record. They tell us the story about how that album then went on to put Black Satellite on the map as they toured with the likes of Starset while receiving the well-deserved praise from many publications around the world. A rewarding yet humbling experience for the duo, but pressure? Nah. Larissa describes what she calls a “…new found confidence” as they are now preparing for the release of their highly-anticipated 2nd album titled “Aftermath”. Combining elements between hard rock and industrial sounds, and blending them with mesmerizing guitar melodies and haunting vocals, Black Satellite are sure to take the world by storm yet again. And last but not least, we talk to Larissa and Kyle about their one-of-a-kind collection of cover songs paying homage to fan favorites like Type-O Negative and Rammstein. And take our word for it, there are covers, and then there are COVERS. Black Satellite is a name you will be hearing a lot more in the very near future. It’s a conversation you will want to dive into yourself as we open up the exciting stories from beginning, current, and to the future with Kyle and Larissa. The 2nd album, “Aftermath” is forthcoming in 2022.
